FAMU Trio Looks To Make NFL Leap

Last season was a tough one for Florida A&M’s football team, but that hasn’t stopped the program from producing NFL level talent. Over the weekend, three former Rattlers took the next step in their football careers.

Linebacker Brandon Hepburn was the lone draftee of the trio, picked in the seventh round (245 overall) by the Detroit Lions. Shortly after the draft, two teammates: defensive lineman Padric Scott and receiver Travis Harvey were contacted by the Arizona Cardinals and Tennessee Titans, and signed as undrafted free agents.

“My grandmother today made me have a reality,” he said. “She usually asks me if I need some money.  I told her no, I have a job now.  I officially have a job, and it’s in the NFL. I will give it all I have to represent FAMU and all HBCUs.”
